Tap Into Motivation

We've all been there, right? Those days when motivation seems to have gone on vacation, and you're left staring at your to-do list with a sigh. I get it; I've been there too. But guess what? There's a little secret I want to share with you that has been a game-changer for me: Tapping!

I know, I know, it might sound a bit "out there" at first, but stick with me – it works, and it's like having a friendly chat with your own mind to boost your motivation. So, let's dive into how you can tap into your motivation, just like you would with a dear friend.

Understanding Motivation

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of tapping, let's chat about motivation itself. It's like this puzzle piece that we all search for, especially when we're faced with tasks that seem daunting or uninspiring. But here's the thing – motivation isn't some magical force that randomly appears. It's something we can nurture, just like a plant that needs the right care to grow. And for me, motivation often comes after I have started to take action, like action creates motivation.

Tapping into the Basics

Now, let's talk about tapping. Picture this: you gently tap on specific points of your body while focusing on your feelings and thoughts. It's like having a heart-to-heart conversation with yourself, addressing the barriers that might be blocking your motivation.

The Tapping Process

  1. Identify Your Block: Imagine you're talking to a friend about your lack of motivation. What's holding you back? Is it self-doubt, procrastination, or a sense of overwhelm? Be honest with yourself.

  2. Setup Statement: Start with a setup statement, just like you're confiding in your friend. For example, "Even though I feel overwhelmed by this project, I deeply and completely accept myself." This sets the stage for self-acceptance.

  3. Tapping Points: Now, tap gently on specific points while repeating your feelings or concerns. It's like telling your friend exactly what's on your mind. These points include the top of your head, eyebrows, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, under the mouth, collarbone, under the arm, and on your wrist.

  4. Round of Tapping: Go through several rounds, addressing different aspects of your lack of motivation. Share your fears, doubts, and worries just as you would with a friend who's listening.

  5. Positive Affirmations: After addressing the barriers, shift to positive affirmations. Picture encouraging words from a friend, like "Even though I had this issue for so long, I am ready to forgive myself and let it go now”, "I have the power to find my motivation" or "I am capable of tackling this task."

  6. Check-In with Yourself: Take a moment to check in with yourself. How do you feel now? You'll likely notice a shift in your motivation and mindset, just like a heart-to-heart with a caring friend can boost your spirits.

Why It Works

Tapping helps you acknowledge and release the negative thoughts and emotions that may be blocking your motivation. It's like having that supportive friend who listens without judgment and offers kind words of encouragement.

So, the next time you find yourself in a motivation slump, give tapping a try. Treat it as a friendly conversation with yourself, addressing your concerns, and boosting your spirits. It's a simple yet powerful technique that can help you find your motivation when you need it most.

Remember, you're not alone.

We all have our moments of struggle, but you can be your own best friend, cheering yourself on to achieve all your goals, and Tapping can be a fantastic partner on your journey.

With love,

Sanna
